something beautiful

I opened my parents card with relish. Something beautiful. Today my something beautiful is my mothers handwriting. My address and Name written on the outside of the envelope is stunning and warm and the best part is, it is only for me. Only I think this beauty...is. I love it, from my name on my baby book to the sick notes she wrote for me in school. "Please excuse Mandy from school yesterday, she was ill" her handwriting embodies everything about her. It was one of the first beautiful things in my world was a child. It is cursive and straight with our lines. Yet, unique like life was breathed into it. not as all like a drone no personality perfectionist. This my beautiful thing for the day. It was tough, it had to compete with, fall leaves, sleeping 5 year olds, and libraries. But Mother always wins out.

Kansas

This little AECO is what kansas feels like to me. The wild flowers in the spring, and the golden wheat in the fall. It is called "Not a Hair Out of Place" and it is a self portrait, even though I didn't mean to make it one.

a couple cool sites

I received an art magazine as a gift for christmas. This magazine is responsible some unique websites and artist I have found. http://www.needsforsale.com is a pair of artists selling a image of something that relates to a need of someone else. They painted a picture of a ham (food) and donated the proceeds. http://www.wantsforsale.com is their own personal wants like, an iphone, and admission to an art museum. GREAT concept!

Another website is a great aide to artist and creators alike, http://www.moo.com most of you may already know about it. It is a great site to upload your own artwork or pictures of products to have them printed on small business cards, stickers, and greeting cards. Or choose from the stock they have. You don't have to be an artist either it is a load of fun to just browse.
